    February 28th, 2008 · No Comments

sunriseIf you have been diagnosed with diabetes, or if you have been living with diabetes for awhile, it is important to not smoke. Smoking is dangerous for healthy people, but those with diabetes can be even more adversely affected by cigarettes.

When you decide to quit smoking, you need to know how to succeed without stress. Many people suffer a great deal during this time as they go through withdrawals.

Talk to your doctor and ask what quit smoking aid is recommended. There are nicotine patches, nicotine gum, nicotine inhalers, and other stop smoking aids you can use to make qutting easier.

With some of these aids you might need a prescription drug to relieve the depression and urges experienced when you quit something you have done for years. A prescription for anxiety and depression will make it easier for you, and easier for the people you live with or work with.

Learning how to quit smoking is not going to be easy, but with help, it can be done. And if you have diabetes, it is very important that you don’t smoke.
