People with ADHD often suffer from a lack of control which has been correlated with a decreased production of serotonin, dopamine, and epinephrine. All of these chemicals are related to behaviors of those with ADHD. For an unknown reason, individuals with ADHD have trouble being able to produce enough of each of these chemicals or the body isn’t able to use the chemical in the right way.

The most important thing taken from all of these studies is that everyone should be sensitive to those who have ADHD, and should keep an eye out for any symptoms of depression. No one should ever assume the symptoms are only because of ADHD.

One out of four adults that has ADHD also suffers from depression. Some studies have shown that children who have ADD or ADHD have an increased risk of suffering from depression. Usually when a child is diagnosed with depression, it is commonly related to ADHD and this diagnosis is sometimes is missed.
