Childhood Vaccine Dangers Part 1

May 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

childhood vaccine dangersNow day’s vaccinations are an everyday affair in the developed and the developing countries. In the developing countries, most of the vaccination programs against infectious and dangerous diseases have government backing in an attempt to reduce the mortality rates amongst children. In developed countries such as US, healthcare workers and cooks are made to take vaccinations to protect consumers as well as the cooks from virulent diseases.

Vaccinations are now an inseparable part of every culture and country. However, these days there are debates on the safety of these vaccination programs. Many people feel that these vaccine programs can be a risk for children who enter them. However, the picture is hazy. Many a times the authorities and the parents find themselves debating on the pros and cons of the childhood vaccine programs.

Vaccines are viruses and bacteria injected in a milder and controlled amount into the body. These vaccines are similar to all the medical interventions and drugs as they also have side effects and other issues which may be mild or very serious. Vaccines also come with their risk factors and advantages.

Luckily, today’s vaccinations and medication are much safer and more advanced than their predecessors. The modern day technological and medical advancements have ensured that today’s medications and vaccines come equipped with superior protection against the disease and lesser or no side effects. All in all, nowadays it’s safer to vaccinate than to expose the individual or the child to the actual disease itself.

It’s quite interesting to know that historically medicine has never been called a science of medicine but a practice of medicine. This is due to the fact that there are no black or white answers in this practice. Each individual is different and offers different symptoms and reactions.

More often than not the reaction to a particular vaccine or medication may be predicted based on the previous medical history and nutritional background of the individual. However, these predictions are subject to the “human factor” and hence may or may not come true.
